I know… why did I leave that out?! I guess because I need to get them to sit still 😆

I know 😞. And I’m aware of at least one or two others I didn’t mention. Endless Brews downtown is one. Can’t remember the other.

I wish I could patronize local businesses even more often than I do.

Love the kitties names!

Stompbox has the same owners- it was just the kitchen that switched ownership. They initially didn’t want to deal with a kitchen, but the space had a kitchen, so they rented that space to The Kitchen Brigade (Chad Cushman - previously The Crepe Guy). Once The Kitchen Brigade left, they decided to go ahead and do their own kitchen.

That’s insane that so much was closed for private events that night!!

I’m sad about Endless Brews closing.

ah! Thanks for the reminder/ownership of Stombox. I knew the Kitchen Brigade was gone...

And I'm sad about that one, too! Even if I was only ever in a couple times. Cool place!!

Sierra Ferell is AMAZING! Saw her at XKB in DM a few years ago.

We volunteer at Hoyt Sherman Place as ushers. On 5/30, Georgette Jones is playing. She's the daughter of George & Tammy so should be interesting.

Cool volunteer gig! Also didn’t know there was a George/Tammy progeny in the business! I’ll be she’s good.

You may want to see if the Adler etc needs volunteer ushers. Free tunes/comedians etc for basically an hour of work!

Wow, it doesn't take much to shut down downtown D-port, does it! I've walked around there after a show and you're right, it's slim pickins. In a thriving economy with a vibrant downtown, some of those shops could've said no to the packaging people, but that's not my experience there, so I get it.

Hi Suzan! I grew up in a town that has a Hardee's and a DQ, so for someone coming from that background, Davenport (and all of the QC) seems incredibly rich in terms of places to eat (and much more! But yep, places open late. or even semi-late. are few and far between, and I think several of those places that used to offer later options reduced hours during Covid and never went "back."

I know, I kinda want to chastise those downtown Dav establishments for taking the private parties? But...not too much. I'm frankly glad they get any business if it keeps them open!

BTW: a total fave (that I rarely get to go to) in that area is 1/2 Nelson. We didn't try "trick-or-treating" (ha) at their door Tuesday night! Wonder if they, too, were in private party mode...?
