The storytime, according to the newspaper, “opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer,” but (according to someone quoted) “was not affiliated with any group or organization.” Mmkay. But how about that Brave Books logo in the top corner ...and the rumor that the so-called Moms for Liberty group had endorsed and promoted it?
This is so informative! I had little idea any of this was happening. I'd read about the book ban but hadn't heard about the various groups surrounding it. I'm with the protesters. Thanks.
Amazed how those who are allowed to have tax free buildings use public institutions to express their anti public sentiments. How they decry the public education systems when actually all they want is to cede their parenting responsibilities to others. Word of advice, if you don’t want your kids reading certain books then Go To The Library With Them. It’s a library not a child care institution.
Next time there's a banned book event count me in, would love to join you! I appreciate your curiosity, I always learn something! Thanks for sharing this and opening doors I didn't even know were there. Keep 'em coming!
I learn so much from your outstanding writing. So glad you're back at it and sharing publicly once again!! keep up the good fight. #WithTheBanned
